Feed the Need in Durham (FTDN) hosted Durham Region Business food/fund drive participants to celebrate collectively raising the equivalent of 31,245 meals for those in need during the month of August. More than 35 businesses, including Veridian Connections, Bryson Insurance, Sutton Group – Realty Experts, Mason Bennett Johncox and MinCom Millennium Realty Inc. joined in the challenge in a month which traditionally is a slow time for giving.
The group raised 6,000 lbs of food and more than $10,000 cash which can be leveraged seven-fold to buy food for those in need in the community.
“I can’t say enough about your work to raise awareness,” said Larry Kavanagh, FTND Board President, “We cannot do what we do for our 60 plus clients without you.”
